Trust us for all of your General Electric Hotpoint appliance parts and accessories needs. Step 1: Unplug the range from the power outlet.

Step 2: Locate the 8″ element. It is usually located on the cooking surface at the back of the range.

Step 3: Remove the screws that are securing the element to the range using a Phillips head screwdriver.

Step 4: Carefully pull the element away from the range, taking care not to damage the wiring or any other components.

Step 5: Examine the new element for defects. If any are found, return the element and get a replacement.

Step 6: Connect the wiring to the new WB30X20481 GE 8″ element. Make sure the wiring is connected securely and correctly.

Step 7: Secure the element with the screws that were removed in Step 3.

Step 8: Ensure that all connections are secure, then plug the range back into the power outlet.

Step 9: Turn on the range at the main control knob.

Step 10: Test the element by turning the individual knob to High and waiting for the element to heat up. Once heated, the element should turn red. If this does not happen, you will need to check the connections before attempting to use the element again.
