Docking port,stainless steel works with some GE, and Hotpoint models of dishwashers. How to Replace a WD12X20118 GE Dishwasher Docking Port, Stainless Steel
Tools Needed:
-Flathead screwdriver
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Putty knife
-WD12X20118 GE Dishwasher docking port
-Cordless drill and drill bits
Instructions:
1. Unplug the power cord to the dishwasher from the electrical outlet before starting.
2. Use the flathead screwdriver to remove the screws that are securing the dishwasher door.
3. Swing the door open and use the putty knife to gently pry off the plastic trim pieces on either side of the door.
4. Locate the docking port bracket on the bottom of the machine. It will be a metal bracket that the docking port is attached to.
5. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to unfasten the screws and remove the bracket.
6. Pull out the wiring harness and disconnect it from the docking port.
7. Carefully set the old docking port aside.
8. Place the new WD12X20118 GE Dishwasher docking port into the bracket and secure with screws using the Phillips head screwdriver.
9. Reconnect the wiring harness to the new docking port.
10. Use the cordless drill to drill holes for mounting the new docking port bracket.
11. Use the flathead screwdriver to secure the new docking port bracket to the machine.
12. Reattach the plastic trim pieces with the putty knife and then replace the dishwasher door. Secure with screws.
13. Plug in the power cord to the electrical outlet.
14. Test the new docking port to make sure it is working properly.
15. You have successfully replaced your WD12X20118 GE Dishwasher docking port!
