Turn off the power to your GE washer by either unplugging it from the wall outlet or turning off the respective circuit breaker in your home.
2. Using a Philips-head screwdriver, remove the plastic control panel on the washer.
3. Disconnect the wires from the lock assembly and unscrew the three screws that hold the lock in place.
4. Slide the new door lock into the washer and use the Philips-head screwdriver to secure it with the three screws.
5. Connect the wires to the new lock and then place the plastic control panel back on the washer.
6. Secure the control panel in place with the Philips-head screwdriver.
7. Turn the power back on to the washer and test the new door lock.
