Vent damper works with some GE, and Hotpoint models of microwaves. 1. Begin by unplugging the GE microwave oven from the wall outlet and remove all interior parts, such as the turntable and tray.

2. Next, unscrew the screws located at the top of the unit that secures the vent damper in place. Carefully remove the vent damper from its position.

3. Check for any damage to the old vent damper, such as rust or corrosion. If damage is present, replace the entire vent damper assembly.

4. To install the new vent damper, begin by aligning it with the two mounting brackets and inserting the four screws. Tighten the screws until the vent damper is firmly in place.

5. Finally, reinstall all interior components and plug the microwave oven back into the wall outlet. Make sure the vent damper is working correctly before using the oven.
