CONFIGURED UI BOARD How to Replace a GE WD21X23938 User Interface and Control Board
1. Unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and shut off the power at the breaker box before starting.
2. Remove the kick plate from the appliance and locate the user interface and control board. The board should be mounted on the bottom right side of the appliance.
3. Unscrew the board from the appliance. You may need to use a Phillips head screwdriver.
4. Disconnect all of the wires attached to the old board, using a pair of needle-nose pliers. Be sure to note where each wire comes from so that you can attach it to the new board in the correct spot.
5. Get your new GE WD21X23938 user interface and control board.
6. Reconnect the wires to the new board in their corresponding slots. It’s important to make sure each wire is securely connected.
7. Reattach the new board to the appliance with the screws you removed previously.
8. Put the kick plate back on and turn the power supply back on.
9. Test the new board by running a cycle to make sure everything is working correctly.
