Trust us for all of your General Electric Hotpoint appliance parts and accessories needs. Step 1: Unplug the wiring harness from the socket. To do this, locate the harness plug located on the back of the socket, then press down on the tab while pulling the plug away from the socket.

Step 2: Loosen the two screws attaching the socket to the washer tub with a screwdriver. With the screws loosened, the socket can be removed from the washer tub.

Step 3: Remove the socket from the washer tub by gently lifting it up and away from the washer tub.

Step 4: Install the new socket onto the washer tub by inserting the two tabs on the socket into the two holes on the washer tub. Secure the socket to the washer tub with the two screws.

Step 5: Plug the wiring harness back into the socket. Locate the plug on the back of the socket, then press down on the tab while connecting the plug to the socket.

Step 6: Test the suspension rod support socket to ensure it is securely attached and is working properly.
