Drum tub assembly for some models of LG dryers. Step 1: Gather the Tools and Parts Needed
Before attempting to repair your LG Dryer, gather the necessary tools and parts. You will need a Phillips and flathead screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, new Drum Tub Assembly (Part #3045EL1002S), and a pair of needle-nose pliers.
Step 2: Unplug the LG Dryer
For safety purposes, unplug the LG dryer from the power source before beginning the repair.
Step 3: Remove the Lint Filter
Locate the lint filter housing and pull it out. Then, remove the two screws that are securing the top panel in place.
Step 4: Remove the Top Panel
Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry open the two retaining clips and carefully lift the top panel up and off the dryer.
Step 5: Disconnect the Wiring Harness
Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that are holding the wiring harness on the back of the dryer. Then carefully disconnect the wires and set the wiring harness aside.
Step 6: Remove the Drum Tub Assembly
Open the dryer door and locate the two mounting screws that are holding the drum tub assembly in place. Using an adjustable wrench, loosen the two mounting screws and remove them.
Step 7: Replace the Drum Tub Assembly
Carefully lift the drum tub assembly out of the dryer. Then, place the new drum tub assembly into position and use the mounting screws to secure it to the dryer.
Step 8: Reconnect the Wiring Harness
Reconnect the wiring harness to the drum tub assembly. Make sure all of the connections are secure before proceeding.
Step 9: Reinstall the Lint Filter
Reinstall the lint filter housing and replace the two screws that secure it in place.
Step 10: Reinstall the Top Panel
Reinstall the top panel of the dryer and use the two retaining clips to secure it.
Step 11: Plug in the LG Dryer
Once the repair is complete, plug the LG dryer back into the power source and test the appliance to ensure it is operating properly.
