Before you start any repair project, it’s important to make sure the appliance is unplugged. This will help prevent any accidental electric shock.
Step 2: Locate and Remove the Old Fill Valve
The fill valve is typically located in the back of the dishwasher. Once you locate the valve, use a wrench or pliers to remove the screws that hold it in place.
Step 3: Install the Replacement Valve
Once the old valve has been removed from the dishwasher, slide the new valve into place. Make sure that the seal ring is secure and then tighten the mounting screws.
Step 4: Reconnect the Water Lines
Reconnect the water lines to the new fill valve and make sure they are tight to ensure there aren’t any leaks.
Step 5: Turn Off the Water Supply
Turn off the water supply valve located beneath the kitchen sink. This will prevent any water from running through the dishwasher while you complete the repair.
Step 6: Test the New Valve
Once all of the parts are connected, turn the water supply valve back on and test the new valve. Make sure that the dishwasher is filling with water as expected.
Step 7: Finish the Repair
Once the repair is completed, turn off the water supply valve and plug the dishwasher back in. You can now enjoy your freshly repaired dishwasher.
