MOTOR-CONDENSER FAN – 242018301

This is a genuine OEM part that works for some models of Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, Crosley, Kenmore, and Tappan models. Step 1: Prepare for the Replacement

Before beginning the mechanical repair, turn off the power to the refrigerator and appliance at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Sometimes it is necessary to unplug the appliance as some circuit breakers may not completely shut off power to the refrigerator.

Step 2: Remove the Existing Motor-Condenser Fan

Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the three screws that secure the fan assembly to the evaporator housing. Carefully pull the fan assembly forward, while turning it slightly to the side. This will allow you to reach the two electrical wires connected to the motor.

Step 3: Connect the New Motor-Condenser Fan

Carefully match the existing electrical wires with the new motor-condenser fan. Pay special attention to the colors of the wires and the location of the wires. Once the wires are securely connected, carefully fit the new motor-condenser fan back into the evaporator housing.

Step 4: Secure the New Motor-Condenser Fan

Using the Phillips screwdriver, reattach the three screws that hold the motor-condenser fan in place. Make sure the screws are snugly tightened and verify that the fan is securely attached.

Step 5: Test the New Motor-Condenser Fan

Restore power to the refrigerator. Open the refrigerator’s door and watch for the motor-condenser fan to start spinning slowly. If the fan is not spinning, check the wiring connections again to make sure they are firmly in place.
