Step one: To start, shut off the electricity powering your oven by unplugging the appliance from the wall and turning off the circuit breaker in your home’s fuse box.
2. Step two: Remove the back panel of the oven by unscrewing the screws with a screwdriver.
3. Step three: Disconnect the electrical wires leading to the 12400035 Whirlpool Range Flat Style Oven Ignitor Kit, 3-3/4″.
4. Step four: Once you have the wires disconnected, use pliers to carefully remove the old part from the oven.
5. Step five: Install the new 12400035 Whirlpool Range Flat Style Oven Ignitor Kit, 3-3/4″, connect the electrical wires to the new ignitor, and secure it with screws.
6. Step six: Put the back cover of the oven back on and secure it with the screws.
7. Step seven: Turn the power back on and test the oven for proper operation.
