If your LG refrigerator door is no longer properly closing, you may need to replace the door hinge stoppers. Luckily, replacing the hinge stoppers is a relatively easy DIY project, and can be completed in just a few steps.
Tools You’ll Need:
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Socket wrench
-Hinge stop replacement kit (MJB63029901)
Step 1: Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet and move it away from the wall.
Step 2: Place the socket wrench on the bolts that secure the top hinge cover, then loosen them and remove the cover.
Step 3: Locate the old hinge stopper and use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew it.
Step 4: Remove the old hinge stopper and discard it.
Step 5: Install the new stopper by placing it in the hole and screwing it into place with the Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 6: Re-install the top hinge cover and use the socket wrench to tighten the screws.
Step 7: Plug the refrigerator back into the wall outlet and move it back into its original position against the wall.
