Tools Needed:
Phillips head screwdriver, pliers, and needle nose pliers.
Instructions:
1. Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet and move away from the wall to access rear panel.
2. Remove the screws on the back of the dryer using the Phillips head screwdriver.
3. Find the old thermal cut-off fuse kit and remove it by using pliers and needle nose pliers to gently remove the wires. Be sure to note which wires go where and label them appropriately.
4. Insert the new 279769 Whirlpool Dryer Thermal Cut-Off Fuse Kit in the same way as the old one was removed. Make sure all the wires are firmly attached to their respective points.
5. Reattach the rear panel and use a Phillips head screwdriver to secure the screws.
6. Plug the dryer back into the wall outlet and turn the power back on.
7. Test the dryer to ensure that the new thermal fuse is working properly.
