DIY Instructions for Replacing the 3360629 Whirlpool Washer Transmission Gearcase

1. Unplug your washer’s power cord from the wall and shut off the water supply to the machine.

2. Remove the screws from the back panel of the washer and remove the bolts and lift it off the top of the machine.

3. Disconnect the wires, hoses, and any other components connected to the transmission gearcase. If the hoses are connected with clamps, use a screwdriver or pliers to loosen them.

4. Take out the old transmission gearcase and set it aside.

5. Place the new transmission gearcase in place and connect the wires, hoses, and components as necessary.

6. Tighten all the screws and bolts that you removed earlier to secure the new gearcase.

7. Put back the washer’s back panel and replace the screws.

8. Turn on the water supply to the washer and plug the power cord back into the wall.
