This is a genuine OEM part that works for some models of Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, Crosley, Kenmore, and Tappan models. Replacing the Frigidaire 316217008 PROBE:
1. Unplug your Frigidaire oven and turn off the power outlet before beginning this repair.
2. Remove the oven racks, the broiler pan and the oven door.
3. Locate the probe which is located at the back of the oven and unscrew the mounting screws from the older probe.
4. Unplug the old probe from the oven’s control board.
5. Insert the new probe into the hole in the back wall of the oven.
6. Secure the new probe with the mounting screws that you removed earlier.
7. Reconnect the new probe to the oven’s control board.
8. Replace the oven door, the broiler pan and the oven racks.
9. Plug your oven back into the power outlet and turn the power back on.
10. Test the new probe by using it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
