This is a genuine OEM part that works for some models of GE, and Hotpoint models. 1. Unplug the GE washer from the power source.
2. Remove the four screws that secure the detergent cup cover to the washer front panel using a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Pull off the detergent cup cover and set it aside.
4. Take the new WD12X24237 detergent cup cover and place it in the same area where the previous cover was.
5. Secure the new detergent cover to the washer front panel with the four screws removed earlier.
6. Plug the GE washer back into the power source.
7. Test the GE washer to ensure the new detergent cup cover is functioning properly.
