GE DISHWASHER DOOR LATCH TUB SIDE STANDARD – WD21X10490

Door latch tub side standard works with some GE, and Hotpoint models of dishwashers. Replacing the GE Dishwasher Door Latch Tub Side Standard (WD21X10490)

Tools you will need:

• Phillips head screwdriver

• Flathead screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Disconnect power to the dishwasher by unplugging it or turning off the breaker.

2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the access panel to the inside of the dishwasher; this panel is located at the bottom.

3. Once the access panel is removed, locate the door latch assembly and disconnect the two wires from the solenoid.

4. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the mounting clip that secures the old door latch assembly in place.

5. Replace the old door latch with the new WD21X10490 tub side standard door latch.

6. Secure the new latch in place with the mounting clip included with the new latch.

7. Reconnect the two wires that were disconnected from the solenoid earlier.

8. Replace the access panel and secure it using the screws that were removed earlier.

9. Restore power to the dishwasher.

10. Test out the new door latch.

You have now successfully replaced the GE Dishwasher Door Latch Tub Side Standard (WD21X10490).
