If the washer is located close to a wall, move it away to gain access to the back.

2. Remove the six screws near the top of the control panel and one screw near the door lock. Lift the control panel up and disconnect any cables that are connected to it.

3. Remove the two screws that are holding the door lock in place and disconnect any wiring that runs to the back of the lock.

4. Slide the new GE WH01X29528 Door Lock into the slot and secure it with the two screws.

5. Plug in the wiring to the back of the lock and reconnect the control panel.

6. Replace the seventh screw near the door lock and reattach the six screws near the top of the control panel.

7. Reconnect the washing machine to its power source and test the new GE WH01X29528 Door Lock.
