Step 1: Unplug the Dryer – Before doing any type of repair on your dryer, unplug the dryer to ensure your safety.

Step 2: Remove the Top Panel – To access the drum and belt, you need to remove the top panel. There will be one or two screws located on the back of the top panel, and they may also have mounting clips.

Step 3: Remove the Drum – The drum is typically attached to the back of the dryer with a set of screws. Once you have removed the screws, slide the drum forward and out of the dryer.

Step 4: Replace the Belt – There should be an existing belt on the drum. Take this off and throw it out. Now, take the new GE WE12X27300 belt and start at one end of the motor and wrap it around the pulley. Make sure that the belt is sitting properly on the grooves of the drum.

Step 5: Reassemble – Once the belt is in place, you can start to reassemble. Put the drum back in and secure it with the screws. Then replace the top panel, and make sure that all the screws and mounting clips are properly secured.

Step 6: Test It Out – Plug the dryer back into its power source and test it out. Make sure that the belt is running smoothly and that the dryer is operating correctly.
