Before attempting any work on your dryer, unplug it from the wall.

Step 2: Remove the Dryer Drum

Carefully remove the dryer drum and set it aside in a safe place.

Step 3: Access the Drum Rear Bearing Sleeve

Remove the two screws that hold the rear bearing support plate in place. Then, carefully pull up the plate to reveal the bearing sleeve beneath.

Step 4: Remove the Old WE1M462 GE Drum Rear Bearing Sleeve

Remove the old WE1M462 GE Drum Rear Bearing Sleeve using a screwdriver or similar tool.

Step 5: Clean the Area

Use a cloth or brush to clean the area around the old bearing sleeve.

Step 6: Replace the Old Bearing Sleeve

Carefully place the new WE1M462 GE Drum Rear Bearing Sleeve into the rear bearing support plate.

Step 7: Reinstall the Rear Bearing Support Plate

Reinstall the rear bearing support plate by re-securing the two screws removed in Step 3.

Step 8: Reinstall the Dryer Drum

Carefully replace the dryer drum.

Step 9: Test the Repair

Plug in the dryer and ensure the repair was successful by running a load in the dryer.
