Timer works with some GE, and Hotpoint models of clothes dryers. Replacing the WE04X24550 GE Dryer Timer
Step 1: Shut off the power to the dryer. Unplug the dryer from the wall or shut off the circuit breaker in your fuse box.
Step 2: Remove the control panel screws on the back of your GE dryer. This will allow you to tilt the panel upwards to access the dryer timer.
Step 3: Locate and remove the old dryer timer. In most cases, it will be held in place with a few screws.
Step 4: Attach the new GE dryer timer. Insert the timer into the opening and use the same screws from the old timer to secure the new one.
Step 5: Connect the wires from the old timer to the new one. Make sure you match the colors correctly to ensure everything works correctly.
Step 6: Replace the control panel and reconnect the power supply to the unit. Turn the power back on and make sure the timer works correctly. Your new timer should now be installed and working properly.
