Timer works with some GE, and Hotpoint models of clothes dryers. How to Replace a GE Dryer Timer (WE04X24551):
1. Unplug your GE dryer from the wall outlet.
2. Remove the screws from the back of the dryer and take off the back panel.
3. Disconnect the wires from the timer, noting where each wire is located so you can easily reconnect them in the same order.
4. Use a screwdriver to remove the timer knob, then remove the retaining screws holding the timer in place.
5. Pull out the old timer and discard it.
6. Insert the new timer and use the retaining screws to secure it in place.
7. Connect the wires to their corresponding terminals on the timer, making sure they are firmly attached.
8. Affix the timer knob and replace the back panel. Secure the panel into place with the screws.
9. Plug your dryer back into the wall outlet and turn it on.
10. Test the settings on the GE dryer timer to make sure it is working correctly.
