1. Turn off your power source. Before you start your DIY replacement project, it’s important to make sure all electricity to the thermostat is turned off. This can be done by switching off the breaker in the fuse box.

2. Unscrew the cover. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the cover of the thermostat. Take off the cover and get ready to remove the old unit.
