This is a genuine OEM part that works for some models of GE, and Hotpoint models. Step #1: Unplug the Washer
Before beginning any maintenance or repair work, be sure to unplug the washer from the wall outlet to avoid any potential electrical shock.
Step #2: Remove the Top Panel
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws located at the back of the top panel and set aside. Carefully lift the panel off the unit and set aside.
Step #3: Locate the Main Control Board
Once the top panel is removed you should be able to see the main control board located at the back of the unit.
Step #4: Unscrew the Main Control Board
Unscrew the main control board by removing the screws located on either side of it. Once the screws are removed, the main control board will be free to be removed.
Step #5: Install the New Main Control Board
Take the new main control board and carefully fit it into place. Make sure that it is securely in place and that all connections are properly aligned.
Step #6: Secure the Control Board
Secure the main control board with the screws that were previously removed.
Step #7: Replace the Top Panel
Place the top panel back onto the unit and replace the screws.
Step #8: Plug the Washer Back In
Plug the washer back into the wall outlet and turn it on to test the new main control board.
