Safety is key, always turn off the power before doing any repair work in your home.
Step 2: Remove the oven door. To remove the oven door, press the two clips located at the top of the oven door. This will release the door and you can slowly lower it down. Make sure to set the door down on its side in a safe place.
Step 3: Use the appropriate screwdriver to unscrew the screws located on the back panel that secure the WB44X10009 GE Range Oven BAKE ELEMENT in place. Once the screws are removed, take a look at the wiring connecting to the element to make sure there are no signs of burning. If so, you will need to replace the wiring as well.
Step 4: Pull the BAKE ELEMENT out of the oven. You can then go ahead and disconnect the wiring from the element.
Step 5: Install the new GE Range Oven BAKE ELEMENT by carefully connecting the wiring and then putting it in place. Secure it with the screws.
Step 6: Replace the oven door. Make sure that you have the door laying flat on the ground, and then press the clips to lock it in place.
Step 7: Plug the power back into the outlet and test the heating element. If everything is working properly, you can go ahead and cook with your new BAKE ELEMENT!
