2. Remove the top panel of the washer by unscrewing the screws located at the back of the machine.

3. Pull off and discard the old WH16X10158 GE Rod and Spring Assembly.

4. Unscrew the rear drum baffle which is held in place with two screws.

5. Position the new assembly so that the rod is facing up, and the spring is facing down.

6. Insert the assembly into the lower portion of the rear drum baffle.

7. Re-secure the baffle to the back of the washer with the two screws.

8. Place the top panel back on the machine and screw it in place.

9. Plug in the machine and test the new assembly.
