Step 1: Shut off power to your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the main breaker switch to the “off” position.

Step 2: Remove the old rotary switch. To do this, locate and unscrew the screws that secure the cover plate to the wall. Carefully pull the cover plate off, exposing the switch. Unscrew the two screws that are holding the old switch in place and remove the switch itself.

Step 3: Replace the old switch with a new one. Make sure you purchase a compatible switch model, as some brands and models are incompatible. Also, inspect the wiring and make sure that everything is undamaged.

Step 4: Connect the new switch and securely fasten it with the two screws. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and check for any damaged wires.

Step 5: Reattach the cover plate and secure it with screws. Turn the power back on and test the switch.
