Replacing the door on your GE refrigerator can be an easy and straightforward task. With just a few simple tools and steps, you’ll have your refrigerator looking brand new in no time. Here’s what you’ll need:

• Phillips head screwdriver

• WD-40

• Replacement door with Silk Screen GE Logo (WB56X44648)

Step 1: Unscrew and Remove the Door

Using your Phillips head screwdriver, loosen and remove any screws that are present around the edge of the door. Once all of the screws have been removed, the door should be easily lifted off of the hinges.

Step 2: Remove the Left and Right Handles

The left and right-hand handles will also need to be removed in order to replace the door properly. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew and remove each handle.

Step 3: Apply WD-40 to the Hinges

Before positioning the replacement door, apply some WD-40 to the hinges to ensure that the door opens and closes smoothly. Be sure to apply the substance to all of the hinge points evenly.

Step 4: Attach New Door

Once the hinges have been lubricated, place the new door onto the hinges and reattach the screws around the edge of the door. If the screws fit snugly, do not over-tighten.

Step 5: Reattach Handles

Reattach the left and right-hand handles using the Phillips head screwdriver.
