HEATER-DEFROST Replacing the Frigidaire 242044020 HEATER-DEFROST
DIY Instructions
1. Unplug the refrigerator before attempting to replace the heater-defrost.
2. Locate the heater-defrost in the back of the refrigerator. It is usually situated near the condenser coil.
3. Unscrew the two screws that hold the heater-defrost in place with a Phillips screwdriver.
4. Remove the old heater-defrost.
5. Install the new heater-defrost using the same screws and tightening them firmly.
6. Using a multimeter test the new heater-defrost to ensure it is working properly.
7. Replace cover plates or panels if necessary.
8. Plug the refrigerator back in and turn it on.
9. Monitor the temperature of the refrigerator for a few hours to make sure the new heater-defrost is working correctly.
