Step 1: Unplug the Dryer – Before performing any maintenance on the Speed Queen dryer, make sure that it is unplugged from the wall electrical outlet.

Step 2: Remove the Backsplash – Carefully remove the backsplash by first unscrewing the two screws located in the top corners of the backsplash. Once these screws have been removed, gently pull the backsplash away from the dryer to access the drum light lamp.

Step 3: Remove the Drum Light Lamp – Grasp the two tabs located on either side of the drum light lamp and carefully pull it out of its housing. Make sure to pay attention to the wiring attached to the lamp as you may need to disconnect it prior to removing the lamp.

Step 4: Install the Replacement Lamp – Take the new drum light lamp and carefully insert it into its housing. Connect the wiring harness to the lamp if necessary.

Step 5: Replace the Backsplash – Gently lift the backsplash and slide it back onto the dryer, making sure to align the screws with their respective holes in the back of the appliance. After the backsplash is in place, securely tighten the two screws.

Step 6: Plug the Dryer In – Finally, plug the dryer cord back into the wall outlet, and turn it on to make sure that the light works. Your Speed Queen dryer should now be able to light up whenever you open the door.
