Idler lever and wheel assembly works with some Speed Queen, and Amana models of clothes dryers. Step 1: Gather necessary tools. To replace the Speed Queen D516792 ASSY, IDLER LEVER BBS & WHEEL, you’ll need a screwdriver and a ratchet set.
Step 2: Unscrew the top panel. Remove the top panel screws securing the panel to the washer. Unplug the wiring and lift off the panel.
Step 3: Remove the belt assembly. Using a ratchet set, remove the tension spring from the pulley on the motor side of the machine. Then use the ratchet set to loosen the belt and remove it from the pulley.
Step 4: Replace the idler lever, bearing and wheel. Carefully line up the new lever, bearing and wheel into the machine, ensuring that all parts are firmly in place.
Step 5: Reinstall the belt assembly. Wrap the belt around the drum, motor and idler wheel, then use the ratchet set to tighten the tension spring.
Step 6: Reinstall the top panel. Reconnect the wiring and line up the holes of the panel with the washer. Reinstall the screws to secure the panel.
Step 7: Test the washer. Turn on the washer and check that everything is now properly working.
