Fabric selector switch (3 position) works with some Speed Queen, and Amana models of clothes dryers. DIY Step-by-Step Guide to Replacing the D513505 Speed Queen Dryer Fabric Selector Switch (3 Position)
1. Start by unplugging the dryer’s power cord from the wall outlet. This will prevent any accidental electrical shocks.
2. Remove the two screws that are holding the back panel of the dryer in place. Lift the panel off and set it aside.
3. Locate the existing fabric selector switch inside the dryer. The switch will have three positions: low, medium, and high.
4. Disconnect the wires attached to the old fabric selector switch. Take note of where each wire is connected to ensure you reconnect them properly to the new switch.
5. Secure the new fabric selector switch into the same area as the old one by carefully tightening the screws.
6. Reconnect the wires to the new switch and make sure they are connected firmly.
7. Replace the back panel of the dryer and secure it with the two screws.
8. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
9. Test the new switch to ensure it is working properly by selecting the different settings.
