Door strike mount works with some Speed Queen, and Amana models of washer / dryers. DIY Guide to Replacing a Speed Queen Washer/Dryer Door Strike Mount (D510127)
Are you having trouble with the door on your Speed Queen Washer/Dryer not closing properly? If so, there’s a good chance that the door strike mount (D510127) has seen better days. In this guide, we’ll show you how to replace it.
1. Unplug the Washer/Dryer from its power source. Pull the appliance away from the wall and secure it in place with a set of wheels.
2. Take off the top panel of the washer/dryer by unscrewing the screws. There should be four screws in total – two at the back of the machine and two at the front.
3. Look for the old door strike mount. It’s usually located near the top right corner of the machine.
4. Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the door strike mount. There may be a small plastic clip attached that you’ll need to take off as well.
5. Insert the new door strike mount into the hole left behind by the old one. Secure it in place with the screw and plastic clip.
6. Reassemble the top panel of the washer/dryer and plug it back in.
7. Test out the door to make sure it closes tightly.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully replaced the door strike mount on your Speed Queen Washer/Dryer.
