Step 1: Check the Model – Make sure that the Speed Queen model you are considering replacing is a D504082 washer with Wave-Touch control.

Step 2: Gather the Tools – Before beginning to replace the washer you will need the following items: Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, plumbing fixtures, and a level.

Step 3: Remove the Old Washer – Disconnect the power and water supply lines to the washer then unscrew any retaining screws securing the washer to the wall or floor. Carefully lift the washer out of its hiding place and carry it away for disposal.

Step 4: Install the New Washer – Place the new washer into its hiding place and use the level to make sure it is perfectly level and stable. Attach the washer securely to the wall or floor using the retaining screws.

Step 5: Connect the Power and Water Lines – Reconnect the power and water supply lines to the new washer. Use the adjustable wrench to tighten the connections and ensure there are no leaks.

Step 6: Test the Washer – Turn on the power and water and then test the new washer with a few loads of washing to ensure it is working correctly and that there are no leaks.
