Power cord works with some Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, and Roper models of clothes dryers. Instructions for Replacing a Whirlpool PT220L Dryer Power Cord
1. Unplug the existing power cord from the wall outlet and the dryer.
2. Remove the access panel or screws that attach the front panel to the dryer.
3. Locate the strain relief that holds the existing power cord in place. This is a metal band around the socket where the cord enters the dryer.
4. Loosen the metal band using a screwdriver or a pair of pliers and remove the cord from the dryer.
5. Take the new replacement cord and run it through the strain relief.
6. Make sure that the strain relief is securely tightened with a screwdriver or pliers.
7. Connect one end of the cord to the terminal block inside the dryer and the other end to the wall outlet.
8. Replace the access panel or screws attaching the front panel to the dryer.
9. Plug the dryer into the wall outlet.
10. Test the dryer by setting it to a drying cycle and ensuring that it runs properly.
