Maytag – Admiral – Amana – Norge – Magic Chef – Sears Kenmore Dryer Thermal Fuse Kit LA-1053This dryer thermostat and fuse kit was used in many Maytag, Magic Chef, Norge, Montgomery Wards, Admiral and Crosley brand dryers. Dryers that use the LA-1044 element also use this kit. Includes: ● Two dime-size thermal fuses: one for gas dryers and one for electric dryers. ● The part numbers of the fuses are 53-1096 and 53-1182. ● The part number of the high limit thermostat is 53-0771. Replacing the Whirlpool Dryer Thermal Fuse Kit

1. Begin by unplugging the electrical cord of your dryer from the wall outlet.

2. Next, remove the back panel of your dryer where you’ll see the thermal fuse kit. You may need to remove some screws in order to gain access to the thermal fuse kit.

3. Once you have access to the thermal fuse kit, locate the two wires going to the kit. These will be connected to two screws.

4. Disconnect the two wires from the two screws.

5. Take the new thermal fuse and carefully insert it into the slot so that it fits snugly.

6. After the new thermal fuse is in place, reconnect the two wires back to the two screws.

7. Finally, replace the back panel of your dryer and plug the electrical cord back into the wall outlet.

Your Whirlpool dryer should now have a new thermal fuse kit installed and be ready for use.
