2. Unscrew the screws connecting the back panel of the washer to the inner cabinet. Then, remove and set aside the back panel of the washer.

3. Carefully remove the belt from the pulley system of the washer.

4. Grab a hold of the 285852A Whirlpool Washer Direct Drive Heavy Duty Motor Pump Coupling and pull it out of the washer cabinet.

5. Take out the new couple and make sure it matches the size and specs of the original one.

6. Connect the female end of the coupling to the motor shaft and the male end to the pump.

7. Now, place the belt onto the pulley, then position the back panel of the washer in its spot and re-secure it with the screws.

8. Check to make sure the connection is secure, then reconnect the power and water supply to the washer.
