Replacing the GE Dishwasher Door Latch Tub Side Standard (WD21X10490)<\/p>\n<p> Tools you will need:<\/p>\n<p> \u2022 Phillips head screwdriver<\/p>\n<p> \u2022 Flathead screwdriver<\/p>\n<p> Instructions:<\/p>\n<p> 1. Disconnect power to the dishwasher by unplugging it or turning off the breaker.<\/p>\n<p> 2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the access panel to the inside of the dishwasher; this panel is located at the bottom.<\/p>\n<p> 3. Once the access panel is removed, locate the door latch assembly and disconnect the two wires from the solenoid.<\/p>\n<p> 4. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the mounting clip that secures the old door latch assembly in place.<\/p>\n<p> 5. Replace the old door latch with the new WD21X10490 tub side standard door latch.<\/p>\n<p> 6. Secure the new latch in place with the mounting clip included with the new latch.<\/p>\n<p> 7. Reconnect the two wires that were disconnected from the solenoid earlier.<\/p>\n<p> 8. Replace the access panel and secure it using the screws that were removed earlier.<\/p>\n<p> 9. Restore power to the dishwasher.<\/p>\n<p> 10. Test out the new door latch.<\/p>\n<p> You have now successfully replaced the GE Dishwasher Door Latch Tub Side Standard (WD21X10490).<\/p>\n<p>Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer&#8217;s manual, if available.
