Step 1: Disconnect the Power <br \/> Unplug the power cord of your GE dryer. Make sure that the power has been completely disconnected and the appliance will not operate unexpectedly.<\/p>\n<p> Step 2: Open the Dryer <br \/> Open the top of your dryer by releasing the clips at the back, or by pulling the knob at the front.<\/p>\n<p> Step 3: Remove the Belt <br \/> Find the belt drive assembly at the back center of the dryer. Slide the belt off the pulleys and ensure that it is removed from the idler pulley and tensioner.<\/p>\n<p> Step 4: Install the New Belt <br \/> Thread the new belt around the drum, followed by around the idler pulley. Then feed it through the tensioner and place it around the motor pulley. Make sure that the belt is correctly aligned with the grooves of the pulleys, and tighten the tensioner to secure it in place.<\/p>\n<p> Step 5: Test the Operation <br \/> Once the new belt is in place, close the top of the dryer and reconnect the power cable. Test the operation of the dryer to ensure that the new belt is functioning correctly.
