Whether you’re a handy DIYer or an experienced plumber, replacing your GE WB19K10044 control valve assembly can be an easy task. Fortunately, it doesn’t require any special tools or expertise – just a few steps and the right parts. Follow this guide to replace your control valve assembly and get your hot water running like normal again.

Step 1: Shut off the Water Supply

The first step is to shut off the water supply leading to your GE WB19K10044 control valve assembly. Locate the main shut-off valve and turn it off. This will prevent any water from entering the valve during the repair process.

Step 2: Drain the Bypass Valves

After shutting off the main water supply, you’ll need to drain the bypass valves for each of the following lines: hot, cold and recirculating. This will ensure that no water is left inside the control valve assembly when you remove it.

Step 3: Remove the Old Valve Assembly

Once the bypass valves are drained, identify and loosen the mounting screws that secure the valve in place. Carefully pull the old valve out of the wall. It’s important to keep track of all the small parts and pieces that might come loose during the removal process.

Step 4: Install the New Valve Assembly

Now that the old valve has been removed, it’s time to install the new one. Insert the valve into the wall and begin to tighten the mounting screws. Make sure that the valve is firmly in place before continuing on to the next step.

Step 5: Turn on the Water Supply

Once the valve has been installed, turn the main water supply back on. This will allow water to flow through the valve and fill the bypass valves. Once the valves are full, the valve is ready for use.

Step 6: Test the Valve

The last step is to test the valve before use. Run hot and cold water through the tap and make sure that the valve is functioning properly. If everything is working as expected, then your GE WB19K10044 control valve assembly is good to go!

By following this guide, you should now be able to easily replace your GE WB19K10044 valve control assembly. The process doesn’t require any special skills or tools, making it a great DIY project. For best results, always start by shutting off the main water supply and draining the bypass valves before removing the old valve. Then, when installing the new valve, make sure it’s securely tightened and that all of the pieces are in place. Finally, test the valve to ensure proper functioning.
